You also have to download a little Windows based installer app from the Jeppesen website. In any case, this thing is able to write SD cards just fine. I wasn’t quite sure if this would work since the title of the product says “ reader”, and to me that implies it doesn’t to writes, but I think the world of consumer electronics sees things differently than the world of computer science. I purchased a “Sandisk MicroMate SD / SDHC Memory Card Reader (Static Pack, New, SDDR-113)” from Amazon for $9.99. To upgrade these databases you have to write to the little SD card. I know that’s a little confusing, but I made a picture below to help. They also say you can enable automatic database synchronization so that if you update the MFD, the PFD will get updated from the MFD. If you go all the way back into the Appendix B they pretty clearly state that you should be able to install a “standby” nav database in the top slot of the MFD and have it copy to the main db card (bottom card). I figured that I should get a jump on things and figure out how to update it long before I needed it, so on March 2nd I read the Perspective Manual. Now I wanted to ask what experts do to image an existing pc so that the image can be used for the new pc. Good Day Folks, I am new to the IT world and need to learn heaps from the experts. What is the correct procedure to clone a pc? Software.I know you can get PCI-e storage but it's at least £130 for 256 GB when all I want to emulate is a 16GB SD card :-/Īll thoughts appreciated.Switch to an SSD, but I'm planning on using the eight drive bays so will have to stash it inside somewhere and break into the CD-ROM SATA connector :-/.I do have an old USB 2.0 PCI-e card which I could try putting in the server to boot off.Try an external USB slot, perhaps they are on different buses or controllers? Are front and back slots on separate buses?. I'm now running out of ideas and still don't really know where the error is. The SD card slot does seem to be using the USB bus so I wonder if it's shared with the internal USB port and that's where the issue is :-/ So, I figured it was perhaps the SD card slot, so I plugged the same SD card into a card reader using the internal USB port. I am now on my third SD card however, all brand new and all failing with write errors within 24 hours of installing. While I do use Endurance cards that are specifically designed for continuous writing applications (such as dashcams) I know that they can be a little fragile. With all my builds I write the OS onto an SD card in the internal slot however this server is throwing up occasional write errors to the point that it's degrading the OS. This is my third FreeNAS build so I'm pretty happy that this isn't on OS issue but happy to be proven wrong as the other two are on HP MicroServer Gen8's I have an old ProLiant D元80 G6 at home which I am now rebuilding with TrueNAS/FreeNAS. Hi All, I have a trixy one that has left me scratching my head a little.
